If you were running for the US presidency in 2024, what would you do and say. I’m not necessarily looking for policy statements. I’m looking for actions and statements that would garner votes, whatever that might be. I want to pass suggestions along to my US Representative and Senator when I meet with them early next year. (They are both Republican and elected by comfortable margins.)

I’m looking for actions and statements that would garner votes, whatever that might be. I want to pass suggestions along to my US Representative and Senator when I meet with them early next year. (They are both Republican and elected by comfortable margins.) Good topic. I would set up a standing committee to actively investigate all sides of the current climate "debate". A real scientific hearing presenting all evidence and sides in public ... VERY PUBLIC. Given the Dumbs intention to spend buku government funds to de-carbonize the World, legislative responsibility demands a reassessment of the arguments. Along with all necessary mechanisms to re-establish US energy independence now and into the future. Let "the experts" make their arguments with every number and model they can muster. To wither on the vine or soar in public and on tape. A debate format between "Experts" moderated by the committee. Time to make them put up or shut up. Let the whining and moaning and grandstanding begin. Maybe Greta could even show up with a snarl. Nice touch for the cameras.
I would add Dr Spencer and Dr Christy to the list of debaters. There are many others. This should be pursued with the intensity of the Manhatten Project.

1) Lock down the border. Close it. Stop the infiltration. Post armed guards all along the border if that is what it takes. Just do it. 2) Do whatever it takes to bring integrity and honesty to elections. It is a mess right now. Way too many holes. Without election integrity, we have no country. Without confidence in elections, we have no country. I am willing to go back to all paper ballots on the day of election only. I know it is a pain, but this is a hugely important issue. Anything attached to the internet is not safe. It can, will, has been hacked. 3) Completely eliminate all corruption in government. (OK, I know that is TOTALLY impossible beyond impossible.) Start with the three-letter agencies, primarily the FBI and CIA and keep going. HUGE penalties for kickbacks, failure to follow established procedure, lying, fraud, etc. 4) Make a provision that all members of Congress must live by the same laws and rules as us peasants. 5) Implement hard term limits to get rid of professional politicians. I know there are benefits due to learning the system and establishing relationships, and a whole host of other benefits, but to me it is time to swing the other way. 6) Overhaul the tax system completely. Start over. Reformat the hard drive. 7) Cut back the way-too-difficult-to-describe overreaching federal government. I'd hazard a guess and say cut it to 25% of its current size. It is not needed and to see the waste given the taxes we all pay makes me want to puke.
I could go on, but none of us have the time. I have more actions statements if you need them.

Cut / compress the three-letter agencies to a maximum of one-letter. Same with employees. You cannot have more than twenty-six ... and that is probably too many.

A view from the outside: That manifesto should get you elected but implementation would be difficult/impossible ....... the swamp has been allowed to become too powerful.

Add one:
8) Drain the swamp. And good luck with that one.

The republicans will have to either:
a) remove the crooks from elections management or
b) learn to cheat effectively
Otherwise I see little point

We would need to distill this down to not much more than a bumper sticker. Not that I disagree, but most of this stuff has been said since the 90s. Nice work though. It is correct
We should study the highly successful Camacho campaign, as this is where we have been headed:

I'm convinced that Trump's slogan of "Make America Great Again" played a significant role in his becoming President. How can you explain that an individual who irritates a large percentage of the people gets elected President without any political background or support from party leadership or perhaps even worse, frantic opposition by the media.
And why did the Democrats finish fast in this year's election? I can't help but feel that their final slogan going into election week, "Help Save Democracy", had a significant impact at the margin.
What if 45-year old DeSantis would use the slogan "Make America Young Again" or some variation thereof?
Would people rethink Trump and Biden? Would a near-vegetable like Fetterman enthuse the voters? Would the younger age group in American where Republican support has trailed be enthused? Would abortions be in question?
On the other hand would the older people be turned off?
Make America Young Again might not be a good slogan, but from a strategic point-of-view what is a better one?

I'll have to think about this some more. I'm assuming that " Let the Bastards Freeze in the Dark" probably won't cut the mustard.

IF I were elected: Day 1 1. Address the National Debt. This would be front and center. 2. Energy security. Not worried about "Green". Worried about ENERGY security. 3. Stay on message. The above 2 items are the most important aspect of the future of the USA

Slogan: Make America Fiscally responsible. Without this happening, nothing else of merit is going to happen.

How about doing our own focus group on Presidential candidate slogans? We gather a list of possible slogans from people here and then we get reactions (votes) for the best ones from our friends and acquaintances?
We then add up the results and show the differences by demographics.
I'll show the results to my State Senator and US House Representative and others here can use them as they see fit.
Here's another possible slogan. Capitalism, not Socialism.

Once a policy is sold, there should be no deviation. ** Our conservatives shifted position so much that they were indistinguishable from the opposition socialists ... and reaped the rewards. ** except for extraordinary circumstances and then the change must be re-sold.

A slogan is not my forte. All great points raised here, especially being fiscally responsible. Make America Great Again was an excellent slogan as it was simple and resonated with a large portion of the people. Staying on message is a must. The road ahead for change is long and slow. We have a start.
