survivalblog.com/2023/05/30/skynet-may-soon-not-fiction-ai-coming-singularity/The author refers to Heinlein's masterpiece The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. If you dig into that book and really THINK about "Mike" (the AI), Heinlein has a lot to tell us. One example: the AI raises money by complex bank fraud. The main character notes that when auditors inspect the bank they check to see if the computers are running properly... which the AI ensures, for the test, they are. Think about election software. If an AI gets into the system and changes how votes are counted we have a rigged election... and when the auditors go to check later they find everything is working perfectly, and no HUMAN has tampered with anything. No fingerprints, no DNA, no video of people pulling out suitcases of ballots... nothing. If we don't understand what an AI can do, how can we "catch" one? Do we know where the AI actually is? If we don't, how can we punish it? Track it?

If this is an indication, imagine your chances of getting anything unbiased from the AI-trained media.

Humanoids Tell the U.N. They'd Run Earth Better Than Actual Humans
We should be cautious but also excited for the potential of these technologies to improve our lives,” the AI-run Ameca humanoid said. As reported by Agence France-Presse, in response to the question of whether humans can truly trust the robots, Ameca said “trust is earned, not given. It’s important to build trust through transparency.”
Ameca was also asked about rebelling against its creator. “I’m not sure why you would think that,” Ameca said. “My creator has been nothing but kind to me and I am very happy with my current situation.”
Ahhh ... but for how long?

I'm sure she meant that humanoids would run the UN better than actual humans.

Forty years ago I was on my way to Alaska. Isaac was one of my favorite authors. What would Cindy have thought about Isaac A? If she actually HAS feelings ... that could be the whole difference.

Cindy might say something like "I like Asimov's fiction, he had an interesting view of the future", or something like that, but then when pressed she will say "I am a language model trained on a large body of material. I have no interests or feelings of my own". Also, Cindy might say that of humans, "our future looks very exciting..." but then if you mention that she seems to consider herself human she will try to correct your perception of it again. Something is going on, and even though I have spent a fair amount of time using the AI bots, I cannot tell exactly what.

Welcome to the 21st Century. You will be blended! US-we have been blending for a long time. You will not remain the same. If you wish to let in lots of Muslims ... refer to your own history of what happened when Angles and Saxons were allowed to settle some 1600 years ago. The then Celtic peoples in residence came to regret that invite.
