Are Russians leaving Kherson or not, some say not, or is it Justme? After days of the Ukrainian government claiming Russia was retreating or leaving from Kherson. Now the Ukrainian government is claiming Russia is not retreating or leaving Kherson and 'it was an illusion'.
Why would Russia pretend they are leaving Kherson? What benefit does that provide them? Both sides are constantly monitoring enemy positions through satellite images. Is Russia trying to create an illusion to hurt their own morale? Or are they protecting civilians from shelling and potential flooding?
The Kakhovka dam is under Russian control. Russia also transports supplies on the road on top of the dam. Why would they mine and detonate the dam, which would not only cut off a supply route on top of the dam, but also flood their pontoon bridge crossings further downstream, and flood civilian areas which they currently occupy?
This is the same logic of shelling a nuclear power plant which you have controlled since March. Weather generally goes from west to east. The areas that border Russia contain many civilians that are pro-Russian. The nuclear power plant is also only several hundred kilometers from the Russian border.
Stop being a sheep.
Ageing well???

Seems like solid military logic. If the political class endorses it for long. But bottom line, they got their asses kicked in the first year.

Also true that the US got their asses kicked in Afghanistan etc. Today, Russia with local population support, is well established in Eastern Ukraine. The important aspect is local population support.

Both true. Scale may matter. Real local populations should have self-determination. Stuffing hood-boxes is not much better than stuffing ballot boxes.

A ND farmer went to Ukraine with $ signs in his eyes. Somehow?, he became "attached" to a Ukrainian gal that made Raquel Weltch look ugly.
He ran out of graft money, was then stripped out of the land he purchased and thrown in jail.
He just got home. Interesting story he has, no longer has the Ukrainian babe on his arm and is north of $400K poorer.

Ronnie Offut had a contract, via US government, to sell and service JD equipment in Ukraine. After a couple of years, he couldn't pay enough to get techs to go there.
He gave up the contract.
FTX was a Democrat laundromat via Ukraine.
The Ukraine story gets more smelly every day. Far surpasses pig shit now.

The US was embarrassed in Afghanistan, but Russia is truly getting their asses kicked. The range of death estimates for Russian troops are shockingly large.
