Well....we the public knew this, its been obvious and even before the invasion it was asked how armour would traverse Ukraines gloopy spring fields. Tanks on roads, Ukrainians fire shoulder launched oven makers from Woods, Turkey shoot.... How many armies in the last 50 years have found out its difficult to win against a motivated, correctly supplied enemy with good knowledge of terrain? Same sht different country. Yep. These are old techniques. Different time, different place. it's how their partisan grandfathers harassed and harried the German armies in WWII. It's how our own ancestors handled King George's boys in the Revolution. Hundreds of other examples ... including the Russians.

The underbelly surfaces. Both sides of this conflict are dirty as hell.
You won't stay clean if you jump into the mud puddle.

Take it for what it is or isn't. That's the problem. I don't doubt that "they" (either side) would. But "I" can't prove that they did or didn't. Given arguments for both sides, most are left to believe what they want to believe. And yes ... nobody who jumps in the mud puddle will remain clean. We have our "shady" characters here in Missouri too. But it is our right and responsibility to clean them up for ourselves. Kansas can take care of their own night creatures. I think we heard similar speech from individuals and groups on different sides in the Balkan wars ... and probably every war in history.

We have had Ukrainian HS-B visa farm workers here. They are hard working, want to make money. The corruption in Ukraine is real, so they say. They call it the mob. Pay to play thing. If you don't pay, you disappear. Part of their wages was going to pay the mob who set them up with the Visas. People around here know this, are happy to get dependable driven help. Local politicians would never get away with virtually public graft. In Ukraine, it is like Mexico. If ya have ever tried doing business there, ya have to keep a full wallet of grease. It will be empty when you leave, but the business venture will live. One fellow stated, if you don't cooperate, the birds get you. Hell of a way to live.

You get the feeling that Ukraine was kinda ready for this in some ways. Quote from walking dead when several people have been captured in a railcart, making makeshift weapons.... "They're gonna be sorry when they find out..." "Find out what?" "That they've screwed the wrong people"

We occasionally get Ukrainian truck drivers picking up at the quarry. I have found them to be no-nonsense and smart. They hustle and want to make money.

The thought of warm water ports keeps coming back to me.
Look where they're holding land.
One of Putins advisors was once in media/advertising or something like that....before he became a shadow and still spoke in public he said something like this...
"If you have a goal, and external interest will hinder your achievement in this, do something loud and obvious elsewhere so noone sees what you really want."

"If you have a goal, and external interest will hinder your achievement in this, do something loud and obvious elsewhere so noone sees what you really want." The 49th Brigade and others are still holding Mykolaiv and the gateway to Odessa. The Japanese reported 4 military transport ships leaving the Russian Far East. Wanna bet they are headed for Odessa? Will the Turks let them into the Black Sea?
Odessa or Odesa is the third most populous city and municipality in Ukraine and a major seaport and transport hub located in the south-west of the country, on the northwestern shore of the Black Sea. The city is also the administrative centre of the Odessa Raion and Odessa Oblast, as well a multiethnic cultural centre. Odessa is sometimes called the "pearl of the Black Sea", the "South Capital", "The Humour Capital" and "Southern Palmyra". The population in 2021 was 1,015,826 Long before the Tsarist establishment of Odessa, an ancient Greek settlement existed at its location. A more recent Tatar settlement was also founded at the location by Hacı I Giray, the Khan of Crimea in 1440 and was named Hacibey after him. After a period of Lithuanian Grand Duchy control, Hacibey and surroundings became part of the domain of the Ottomans in 1529 and remained there until the empire's defeat in the Russo-Turkish War of 1792.Wikipedia
